The Avis Budget Group takes a look at tomorrow’s transport needs

A new approach to car hire:

The Avis Budget Group currently manages 600,000 vehicles and in 2017 handled 39 million transactions. With 11,000 locations in 180 countries and over 70 years of experience, the Avis Budget Group is well positioned to meet tomorrow’s transport challenges and is actively shaping the future.

The company is involved in shaping how people will travel tomorrow and undertaking numerous steps to ensure drivers’ current and future needs will be fulfilled. The Avis Budget Group will show how new technologies can already be put to use now on Stand 101 in Hall 9.

New Avis app:

The new app from Avis makes it much easier and quicker for customers to rent and return vehicles. Thus, they can choose between models from a vehicle category and decide on exactly the car they want to rent. At selected locations vehicles can be unlocked and started using the app. Visitors to ITB Berlin can test the app, which also lets customers upgrade vehicles and change rental periods.

Interconnectedness is the key:

Making the future work will depend on frictionless data communications between vehicles, location staff, apps and customers. For that reason Avis has pledged to establish a fully interconnected vehicle fleet by the year 2020 – the number of cars already stands at 100,000.
