DESTINATION BRAND 19

At ITB Berlin 2020 Institut für Management und Tourismus and inspektour GmbH are presenting the initial findings of a survey on recognition of selected European destinations in China

Which international destinations do the Chinese have at the top of their bucket list? What holiday activities are they most interested in? How well known are destinations in Europe and Germany among the Chinese population?

The findings of the DESTINATION BRAND 19 survey by inspektour (international) GmbH and Institut für Management und Tourismus (IMT) of Fachhochschule Westküste provide an initial insight and answers to these questions. In addition to the use of online questionnaires in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands, in autumn of 2019 a survey took place to gauge recognition of destination brands among members of China’s urban population with knowledge of travel abroad, between the ages of 14 and 59.

Other questions the Chinese respondents were asked in the survey: What immediately springs to mind when a particular European destination is mentioned? What holiday activities, attractions, topics and features do they associate with these destinations?

At this year’s ITB Berlin on Wednesday, 5 March from 2 to 3 p.m. at Großer Stern, Room VIP 1 (Level 4), the initial findings will be presented and an insight given into future research projects. The presentation will take place in English. The panel members are Ellen Böhling, inspektour and Anne Köchling, FH Westküste.
