She Trades Workshop

Special International Women’s Day event: 2nd ITC SheTrades Workshop in partnership with ITB Berlin. Register now!


In order to mark International Women’s Day on Sunday, 8 March, the SheTrades initiative of the International Trade Center (ITC) and ITB Berlin are extending an invitation to a workshop at the Palais am Funkturm (Hall 19) on Friday, 6 March from 1 to 2.30 p.m. The seminar under the heading ’Empowering women through tourism worldwide’ will gather women from around the world who either are or intend to become socially-oriented businesswomen in the tourism industry. Among the topics to be discussed with tourism experts will be how women can exploit business opportunities and the market’s potential in the travel sector. The aim is to exchange experiences and generally make progress. During the first part of the workshop businesswomen will present their success strategies based on best practices. Afterwards, there will be small discussion groups accompanied by international mentors. At the end of the event the workshop findings will be shared with all the participants.

The mentors are Tamari Bichashvili, representative of the International Trade Centre (ITC) SheTrades Commonwealth Programme; Prof. Dr. Claudia Brözel, lecturer at the Technical College for Sustainable Development, Eberswalde and Faculty of Sustainable Economics; Kirsi Hyvaerinen, managing director of PRÁTTO, consulting partner and ITB advisor; Dr. Mihee Kang, director of Asia-Pacific GSTC; Chiara Quaia, vice president of Business Development, Travel Master Card; and Dr. Amina Tall, director of the Branch Office of the German-Arab Association (D.A.G.). The following have been announced as panel guests: Dana Artz, sustainability manager of Evaneos; Dr. Nicole Häusler, ITC; Gifty Mensah, CEO Teyy-Net Travel and Tours & Recruitment Limited; and Rose Topisian Belo, CEO of Luxury Safaris. The workshop will be moderated by Rika Jean-Francois, CSR commissioner of ITB Berlin.
