ITB Berlin is a long-standing partner of the Online Innovation Days, which will be held by Verband Internet Reisevertrieb e.V. (VIR) on 25 and 26 June 2019 – The event will be held in German – The deadline for entering the Sprungbrett Innovators’ Competition is 15 April 2019

The meeting place of the who’s who of the digital tourism industry – at this year’s Online Innovation Days the theme focus of Verband Internet Reisevertrieb e.V. (VIR) is on ‘Sustainability in Tourism’. In addition to the final round of the ‘Sprungbrett’ competition for travel startups, the programme on day one will feature the subject of ’Corporate Venturing’, with workshops and lectures looking at partnerships between established companies and startups. On day two, lectures, forums and discussions will provide expert knowledge on this year’s key topic: ‘Sustainability’. The leading event of the online travel industry will take place on 25 and 26 June at the Marshall Haus at Messe Berlin. As in every year ITB Berlin is a partner of the event.

Don’t miss the deadline! A great opportunity for travel startups

Once again, the Sprungbrett Innovators’ Competition will kick off the two-day industry event. The final round features five startups who will deliver a pitch in front of an audience of 300 industry experts in a bid to win the title. The winner will take home a prize package worth more than 35,000 euros. It includes 5,000 euros in prize money from HRS, a press conference or trade fair stand at ITB Berlin 2020, free one-year membership of the VIR and free one-year membership for two of the Travel Industry Club. For the first time the winner can also take part in an exclusive fundraising workshop, sponsored by MAIRDUMONT VENTURES, which helps to organise the search for investors. Attractive prizes also await the second and third-placed startups. In addition to free one-year membership of the VIR they will receive marketing and sales coaching by the trainer and consultant Claudia Freimuth, coaching on strategies, online marketing, social media and travel agency work by Tourismuszukunft, free one-year membership of the Travel Industry Club, a one-year premium subscription to the fvw, and a one-year 50 per cent discount on car rentals from Sunny Cars.

Interested applicants are invited to submit their entries no later than 15 April 2019 at https://v-i-r.de/sprungbrett/. The launch of their startup/website must have taken place no later than one year previously and it must be connected with digital tourism.
