On its 20^th anniversary the Cycling Analysis of the Germany Cyclists’ Club ADFC announced some new records. In 2018 some 5.5 million Germans used bicycles for tourism reasons, the highest-ever figure, according to Frank Hofmann, deputy chairman of the ADFC, speaking at ITB Berlin. Following a decline in 2017, which the speaker attributed to the wet summer, in the subsequent year the number of cyclists rose all the more rapidly.
