MA Studies in Sustainable Tourism

Prof. Dr. Claudia C. Brözel, MA Studies in Sustainable Tourism, Fachhochschule Eberswalde

ITB Berlin holds a mirror to developments in this sector. In the 30 years I have been here ITB has evolved to an incredible degree. It really is very impressive how the show has built up the technology segment, and the Digital Lab hosts really good events. Time is short, and there is lots of information to be had with ITB Berlin expanding so much. The trade visitor days are packed with information, networking, cultivating relations and holding meetings, you see everybody you want to see – and more. You have to be here. I still want an indoor navigation system.

Start of the 1st Global Tourism Competition and the 17 UN Global Goals

Only a moment ago these topics were still being debated at events at the ITB Berlin Convention 2019. In order to ensure that the ongoing discussion on the challenges of overtourism, mobility, polluted oceans, climate change, biodiversity loss and cultural heritage is kept alive until ITB Berlin 2020, on 18 March the first Global Tourism Competition will kick off together with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
