2015: Munich presents its cultural attractions

At ITB Berlin Munich will be presenting its tourism attractions for the coming year. In 2015, it will again be inviting visitors to witness fascinating new events, festivals, exhibitions and concerts.
On 1 Mai the NS Document Centre Munich will open its doors and the city will receive a place of learning that deals with the causes, effects and the consequences of National Socialism.
The Lenbachhaus will be exhibiting a selection of paintings, watercolours, sketchbooks, artefacts and documents that illustrate the intricate relationship between the lives and works of the artists August Macke and Franz Marc. From 24 October 2015 to 24 January 2016, also taking place in the Lenbachhaus and in cooperation with the Paul Klee Centre in Bern, the exhibition on Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky will focus on the years 1922 to 1931, the artists’ Bauhaus period.
From 29 to 31 May, for the first time, the Rockavaria live rock festival will be taking place on stages inside the Olympic Park. The concert bill includes the rock bands MUSE, Metallica, Kiss, as well as Faith No More, Incubus, LimpBizkit and many more.
From 24 June to 31 July 2015 the programme of the Opera Festival will feature a premiere of Richard Strauss‘ Arabella and Claude Debussy’s Pelléas et Melisande as well as three new productions: Die Sache Makropulos, Manon Lescaut and Lucia diLammermoor.
Following last year’s successful debut, from 26 to 28 July 2015 the second edition of the MUNICH MASH sports event will be taking place. Once again, spectacular mountain biking, BMX and skateboarding competitions await visitors to the Olympic Park.
