Cologne to launch a corporate blog at ITB Berlin

Kölner Altstadt im Herbst

Cologne is a thriving hub of cultural activity. The city has become a creative hotspot due to its highly active and flourishing bohemian culture. This is reflected by a wide range of design, music, art, fashion and festivals in the city. In 2016/17, KölnTourismus will be highlighting this modern urban lifestyle with a focus on #urbanCGN – cologne urban lifestyle, as a key tourism attraction. #urbanCGN covers events, trends, places, projects and the people behind them. Full details can be found by visiting the corporate blog at www.visit.koeln, which has been launched to coincide with ITB Berlin. Additional information is also available in the special sections at www.koelntourismus.de.

A city that hosts sports and events, Cologne will be the international centre of attention this year as the organiser of the Ice Hockey World Championships. For the first time in the history of the competition two countries, Germany and France, will be jointly hosting the 81st IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships. From 5 to 21 May 2017, at Cologne’s Lanxess Arena and the Paris Accor Hotels Arena, the world’s 16 best ice hockey teams will contest a total of 64 matches in their bid for the world title.

During ITB Berlin the three cities of Cologne, Bonn and Düsseldorf will be holding the ‘RheinNacht’ event at the waterworks of Charlottenburg/Wilmersdorf for the fifteenth time. This get-together for tour operators, travel writers and other tourism business partners will take place on Thursday, 10 March 2016.
