Dominican Republic focusing on economic recovery

The island nation is presenting its responsible tourism recovery plan at ITB Berlin NOW

Petra Cruz from the tourist board of the Dominican Republic in Frankfurt showed her delight on the Brand Card of ITB Berlin NOW. The safety concepts that her home country had implemented had even convinced Zurab Pololikashvili. The general secretary of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) had chosen this destination for his family vacation and emphasised that the country’s tourism authorities were doing everything to ensure travellers’ safety and health.

At ITB Berlin NOW The Dominican Republic is presenting itself at three webinars, where it is introducing a responsible tourism recovery plan for its various regions and hotel products.

The Dominican Republic is the second-largest country in the Caribbean. It can be reached in two hours from Miami, four hours from New York and eight hours from most European airports. The Atlantic surrounds the green island’s north and the Caribbean the southern half. The coastline is 1,609 kilometres long. The first webinar talked about the northern coast, where attractions include the port of Puerto Plata, excellent golf courses and the Samaná Peninsula. Watching the 27 waterfalls of Damajagua and looking out for spectacular hump-backed whales are among the activities that are certain to get visitors’ adrenalin going
