Göteborg and Málaga are featured on their Brand Card and with a virtual presentation at ITB Berlin NOW
Forward-looking, sustainable and technically-oriented: that is the slogan under which the European Capitals of Smart Tourism are represented at ITB Berlin NOW. Visitors can find out more about the initiative, what made Göteborg and Málaga stand out to enable them to become 2020 European Capitals of Smart Tourism, and what their strategies are for recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Interested users can visit the Brand Card of the European Capital of Smart Tourism and take part in a virtual presentation on 11 March from 5 to 5.30 p.m. The European Capital of Smart Tourism is an initiative by the EU that recognises the outstanding achievements of European cities as tourism destinations in four prize categories: sustainability, accessibility, digitalisation, and cultural heritage and creativity.
Göteborg and Málaga won the competition for the 2020 European Capital of Smart Tourism. The initiative promotes the development of smart tourism in European cities and aims to strengthen destinations and share best practices. It is under the supervision of the European Commission, the Directorate General for the Internal Market, Industry and Entrepreneurship and SMEs. The initiative is based on a preparatory action proposed by the European Parliament. www.smarttourismcapital.eu.
