A digital hotel experience
Airline passengers take it for granted that they can check in online. Anyone looking for a hotel offering such a service is still out of luck, however. The Munich-based tech company hotelbird has decided to change that, and its products are now setting a new standard in the hotel industry. Not only can hotel guests check in and out online, they can also use a mobile payment system and unlock their room with a digital key. hotelbird will now be presenting its PROFESSIONAL product at ITB Berlin, which also offers a convenient key handover feature.
After the hotel reservation is completed, check-in confirmation is sent online. After checking in, the guest receives a QR code by email. At the hotel a self-service terminal is used to scan the code and obtain the room key. As with every other hotelbird product, a guest can use the Professional version to complete the hotel’s registration form online. The hotel invoice can be paid safely and conveniently via an online payment system, after which checking out can proceed. hotelbird’s convenient online system offers a choice of invoicing addresses and payment methods, so that the guest can distinguish between a business and private account for the hotel room.
By using hotelbird software hotels can reduce their workload and processing costs. Guests can avoid long waiting times at reception and complete the necessary hotel formalities wherever and whenever they want.
Visitors to ITB Berlin can experience hotelbird’s digital guest journey on Stand 103 in Hall 7.1c, where they can try out the door unlocking feature themselves.
