More than 260 leading speakers at over 100 sessions – more than ever before. At this year’s ITB Asia Conference industry, heavyweights and emerging players will discuss the future of travel.
Taking as its slogan ’Bold Thoughts, Bold Moves’, from 16 to 18 October, Asia’s leading travel trade show will present the most wide-ranging programme in its 12-year history. At over 100 sessions, more than 260 experts representing the MICE industry, travel technology, tourist and business travel will share their expert knowledge and offer an insight into which new trends are behind the shifts in the tourism industry and are revolutionising the future of travel. For the first time, MICE Show Asia will also be taking place during ITB Asia at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
The Knowledge Theatre is the main venue for the ITB Asia Conference 2019. Forward-looking topics to do with business travel, travel technology, destination marketing and Muslim tourism will be on the agenda. On day one, specialists representing American Express Global Business Travel (AMEX GBT), CTrip, CWT, Sabre and Traveloka will provide an insight into the future of travel technology. Presentations will feature innovations that are helping to change the travel eco-system and consumer booking behaviour. On day two, the keynote session will examine the future of travel marketing. Tourism experts from Agoda, Hotelbeds, Kayak and TripAdvisor will explain how companies can stay competitive in a rapidly developing market. On day three of the conference, the focus will be on the changing demands of Chinese travellers. Representatives of Booking.com, OYO Hotels & Homes and Thomas Cook China will highlight the prospects for companies, brands and retailers dealing with this target group.
Following last year’s successful debut of the C-Suite Talks which took place between lectures at the Knowledge Theatre, these are scheduled to be held again. Senior executives from the Akaryn Hotel Group, GCP Hospitality, the Intrepid Group, Lonely Planet, The Ride and Travelzoo will talk about the latest travel industry topics.
Corporate Travel track highlights new directions for business travel and management
ITB Asia has also established itself as the main platform for business travel. This year, leading brands including Amadeus, Egencia and SAP Concur as well as new travel operators such as Grab and Travelstop will provide background information and discuss groundbreaking developments. A number of approaches to managing business travel as well as the expectations of millennials will also be analysed. On day two, the Corporate Partner Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) will host a Corporate Travel Day, where experts will report on the trends and established practices that will determine the future of this market.
Travel & Tech track – Always a step ahead with cutting-edge technology
At the Travel & Tech track, leading tour operators will present forward-looking, cutting-edge technologies. Experts will explain how, with the help of groundbreaking technologies, companies can stay ahead of their competitors. The track showcase will also devote time to discussing numerous innovations in hotel technology which are revolutionising hotel services. Topics will include automation and AI, whose growing importance will be discussed at various sessions.
Destination Marketing and Muslim Travel
Two other track showcases will focus on Destination Marketing and Muslim Travel. Practitioners will offer insider tips for the tourism industry on how to make optimum use of social media to promote their travel destinations. Examples of best practices will also highlight the growth in Muslim-friendly travel destinations.
New: MICE Show Asia
The MICE Show Asia is an Asian MICE industry event that no one can afford to miss. This is the first time that MICE Show Asia is happening, and the show is co-located with ITB Asia. High-ranking speakers from the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and the United Networks of International Corporate Event Organizers (UNICEO) as well as leading event management companies including Meetingbox and PouchNATION will be taking part. Thus, visitors to ITB Asia need cover only short distances to get first-hand information about the impact of the digital transformation and the prospects for the global MICE industry in 2020.
