Safety & Security - a complex topic no one should ignore
What news are you bringing to ITB Berlin 2017?
Travelzoo will be presenting the findings of a global research campaign about how consumers feel about safety and security in travel. Travelzoo colaborated with a leading UK Tourism University and Norstat research results from over 6000 consumers from the leading travel markets including Europe, Japan, South Africa, India and North America.
What are your expectations of ITB Berlin 2017?
My expectations of ITB are always the same - thought leadership, excellent speakers and an opportunity to meet new and existing partners and clients. I also expect to lose my voice and to have walked over 10km per day!
What might be a headline topic or be much talked about at ITB Berlin 2017?
I hope the topic I will be presenting on will be much talked about. Given the recent inquest into the horrific event that happened in Tunisia, the responsibility of the travel industry will be a serious point of discussion and debate. It is a complex topic but one that cannot be ignored.
What do you personally like about ITB?
ITB is important personally to be able to do business and hear about new things in the industry. I always leave ITB better informed and with lots of new contacts. There is an energy at ITB. I also like to stand on stage and speak to hundreds of people - I enjoy the attention!
Is this your first time at ITB?
No, for many years ITB has been an important part of my trade calendar.
