Messe Berlin takes a stand against homophobia and transphobia

Messe Berlin

To mark the holding of Pride Week, seven days of events against homophobia and transphobia and the upcoming 37th Christopher Street Day, Messe Berlin is sending out a clear message in support of respect and tolerance. For the first time the capital’s trade fair company will be raising the rainbow flag above Messedamm in a symbolic display of what has long become corporate practice.

Dr Christian Göke, CEO Messe Berlin GmbH: “As a company on the global stage we receive business partners, customers, exhibitors and visitors from around the world. Messe Berlin is a cosmopolitan marketplace and represents the German capital. It is only natural that everyone in the company should be respected regardless of their gender, nationality, ethnic background, faith, ideology, disabilities, age, sexuality or identity.

Messe Berlin is represented with a wide range of products and services on many markets, and it is this diversity that is mirrored by the company itself. Messe Berlin is a signatory to the Diversity Charter and a member of the Alliance against Homophobia. With its Gay & Lesbian Travel segment at ITB Berlin, the world’s largest travel trade show, Messe Berlin has for many years organised the world’s largest exhibition and conference platform for LGBT tourism.
