Music, Parks and Gardens in Thuringia

Spectacular floral displays and famous composers are the main attraction of the tourism destination Thuringia at ITB Berlin 2020

Spectacular floral displays and famous composers are the main attraction of the tourism destination Thuringia at ITB Berlin 2020

With their roots in Thuringia and their natural home in Erfurt, horticultural exhibitions have been a part of the city since 1865. This tradition is coming home in the shape of the 2021 Federal Horticultural Show (BUGA) in Erfurt, which is being held at two locations, on the historical Petersberg and in the egapark, the garden of Thuringia. At ITB Berlin visitors can get an early glimpse of this major event on the stand of Thuringia in Hall 11.2, which features a large area of plants and flowers.

This year Germany is celebrating the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven. Although this musical genius never set foot in Thuringia, the federal state was home to all other major composers of the past: Bach, Telemann, Wagner, Liszt and Schütz. That is reason enough to celebrate Thuringia, authentic places where famous composed lived and worked, museums full of the history of music, music venues that inspire the visitor, famous festivals and outstanding attractions.

From 4 to 6 March during the new Theme Days, trade visitors can find out more from the CREATORS LOUNGE on the stand of Thuringia. At lectures, workshops and discussion rounds Thuringia will present innovations and new projects. No registration is required.
