The European Commission and the European Travel Commission invite tourism stakeholders present at ITB to join leading representatives from the travel industry to discuss the course of action for implementing a public-private initiative to promote Europe as a travel destination at a workshop entitled Towards joint promotion of Europe as a tourist destination, starting at 3pm, on Wednesday 4 March, in Room M1 at CityCube Berlin.
This workshop follows up on the high-level discussions held during the European Tourism Forum in Naples and the European Tourism Day in Brussels late last year, which highlighted the need for European tourism organizations at all levels to continue to strengthen their collaboration under the umbrella of a common approach and positioning to respond to the shifting patterns in global tourism that threaten Europe’s position as the first tourist destination in the world.
Among the panellists are Martina Groenegres, Director of Deutsche Lufthansa AG; Malcom Smith, Vice President of Business Development of the U.S. Travel Association; Jayson Westbury, CEO Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA); Professor Peter F. Keller, Board of Directors Switzerland Tourism and Christian Delom, Director of Strategy at Atout France. The panel will be followed by an open discussion with the audience. Have your say!
