Together with MTT and Panasonic, Singapore Airlines has developed a new app which passengers can use with a tablet or smartphone to select their desired on-board programme of KrisWorld entertainment before boarding their plane. During the flight they can then use their own device as a remote control for the on-board wi-fi network. KrisWorld boasts up to 295 feature films, over 470 TV programmes and more than 450 music CDs. Singapore Airlines is modernising its fleet and has taken charge of its first Airbus A350 out of a total of 67. As part of a crew training programme this plane will initially fly short distances within Asia, and later on in May will take over long-haul flights to Amsterdam. Starting in July the A350 will also go into service on the new route to Düsseldorf.
