Spreewald: 700th Jubilees

Green meadows, shady forest and romantic channels – Just an hour’s drive away, from Berlin, lies the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Spreewald. At ITB Berlin visitors will find out everything about the landmarks, events and active-specials of the popular holiday destination. Here becomes everyday life and stress less important.  Sport fans and guests who are looking for a place to relax can both equally enjoy the nature and landscape. With the canoe visitors explore the water labyrinth and can discover points of interests like the Island Wotschofska or the Freilandmuseum Lehde. They enjoy a spa day, try the delicious cucumbers from the Lübbenauer market or visit one of many events in the tourist region, Spreewald.
This year two Spreewald places are celebrating their 700th Jubilee. The city of Lübbenau organizes a festival which includes numerous cultural offers. Highlight will be a big parade on 27th June. On the occasion of its 700th birthday Burg (Spreewald) hosts a festival week which takes place from 22nd to 30th August.
Other highlights of Spreewald´s event calendar are the 62. Peitzer fish festival (7.-10.8.2015) and the Lübbenauer boat nights (18.7. & 15.8.2015).
