Sri Lankan Airlines is planning flights to Australia

This coming winter Sri Lankan Airlines is planning to introduce a new route from Colombo to Melbourne. Flights will be scheduled four times a week, said Lal Perera, head of Worldwide Sales at ITB Berlin. This route will cater primarily for high demand from customers in India and Sri Lanka. Both nations have large communities in Australia. Passengers will also be able to fly on to Europe. At present, Sri Lankan Airlines also flies to Frankfurt, London, Paris and Rome. Its fleet is currently being upgraded to include seven Airbus A330-300s, all of which are due to be delivered by the end of the year. In 2016 a total of eight Airbus A350s will follow.      Rainer During
