Student globetrotters from HWR Berlin take part in ITB Berlin

HWR Berlin

At ITB Berlin 2015 the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht (HWR) Berlin will be represented with a stand providing detailed information on Tourism Studies. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. habil. Jörg Soller third-year students from the Faculty of Business and Tourism Studies will have a wide range of information and advice for visitors to the fair in Hall 11.1, specifically on the dual course of study, application procedures and on career opportunities. They will also be holding lectures on the subject.

The students of Tourism Studies will be receiving support from Horst Schwartz, an experienced travel journalist, Sylke Schumann, the press spokeswoman of HWR Berlin, and exhibition designer Ralf Wudtke. In addition to completing a three-year course at HWR Berlin the tourism managers of the future undertake training with a company in order to gather practical experience on the job. Thus these students are able to competently manage all aspects of their participation, including the design of the stand and the marketing and press work for the stand of HWR at the world’s largest travel trade show. Over a period of one semester and under the heading of ’Student Globetrotters’ the students put together a concept for ITB Berlin 2015. It highlights the fact that there is much more to a career in tourism than travelling the world and that it offers a wealth of job and career opportunities.

More information about this subject and the students’ ITB project can be found on the Student Globetrotters blog at as well as at the show by visiting a lecture on Thursday, 05 January 2015 at 4 p.m. in Hall 11.1
