Vietnam Airlines plans to expand flights to Germany

Vietnam Airlines is celebrating the 15th anniversary of the flight connection between Frankfurt and Hanoi with ambitious plans for expansion. What began in 2004 with three weekly flights and a stop-over in Moscow has become a success story. Today, there are three non-stop flights to Hanoi with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and four to Ho Chi Minh City that are enjoying continually increased demand among premium passengers. In the first two months of this year, Business Class grew by 50 per cent and Premium Eco by 29 per cent. The goal is, therefore, to serve both routes daily, pending aircraft availability, said Pham Thi Nguyet, German General Manager and, as of 2018, the first female leader to represent Vietnam Airlines abroad, at ITB Berlin. Longer term, the plan is to add a second destination in Germany, Berlin and Munich being up for debate. In Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City is now connected with Van Don International Airport on Ha Long Bay. This means that tours, which until now mostly began in the north of the country, can now be organised from south to north.
