At ITB Berlin NOW on its Brand Card, Kvarken Destinations is presenting Wasaline‘s Aurora Botnia, which operates between Vaasa in Finland and Umeå in Sweden
This new ferry boasts a modern and fresh-looking interior in natural colours – work that was undertaken by Kudos Design. The designers took their inspiration from the Islands of the Kvarken Archipelago, the endless expanse of fields, the natural landscape of Västerbotten and the traditional handicrafts of the region. On its three-and-a-half hour journey the ferry passes through the Kvarken Skärgård, a UNESCO Heritage Site. Passengers can view the impressive landscape through its windows and on deck. There is room for 800 passengers on the ferry. An à la carte and buffet restaurant ensure guests are well looked after. There is also a café on board.
The ferry connection joins the whole Kvarken Destinations region together and is environmentally friendly – its engines are a dual fuel/electric system. The main fuel used is liquid natural gas (LNG). The ship can also run on biogas.
