Expedia.com takes first prize in the ’Established companies’ category
In the end the ’beach boys’ came out on top: Anton Werner and Kai Michael Schäfer of the Berlin-based company Beach-Inspector GmbH made the running in the ’Startups’ category in yesterday’s final round of the VIR Innovators’ Competition. At the Marshall Haus on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds www.beach-inspector.com, a portal where holidaymakers can find their ideal beach, impressed the jury made up of around 50 members which is also a partner of ’Sprungbrett’. By winning the ’Startups’ category Beach-Inspector also secured a lucrative prize worth a total of around 33,000 euros.

Hotel Beacons GmbH (www.conichi.com) with its Bluetooth technology for recognising hotel guests’ preferences in real time aims to set a new standard for hotel guest service around the world.
There was no question about the winners in the other category, ’Established companies’: Expedia.com came first with its new Meeting Market tool. Second place was taken by Wirecard Technologies GmbH, whose credit card payment method enables seamless transactions between OTAs and organisers. SECRA Bookings GmbH with its FeWo Channelmanager, a back end product for all the relevant marketing portals, took third place.
