Silk Road: a caravan route as a trademark

It is a tourist route connecting 33 countries, that despite the different political systems promotes understanding and tolerance, creates jobs, drives economic growth and is famous as a trademark among travellers around the world. Thus, at the Silk Road Ministers’ meeting which took place at the ITB Convention, Taleb Rifai, general secretary of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), gave an account of the most recent achievements surrounding this centuries-old caravan route.

On the trail of nomads in Kyrgyzstan


As of 4 March 2015 visitors to ITB Berlin will be able to explore new routes across Kyrgyzstan. The travel agency NoviNomad is presenting ten routes that travellers can take not only to visit but also to experience everything this country, its inhabitants and culture have to offer. Since it was set up last year the travel agency NoviNomad has been marketing holidays in rural areas where tourists can get to know the country’s culture and meet local inhabitants. Nature lovers who take these routes can discover the nomadic way of life and actively take part in everyday life in Kyrgyzstan.
